  1. Hey everyone,

I’ve been researching the 16-season color analysis for a while now, trying to identify my correct color type. I’ve taken several different tests online, and my results are all over the place—sometimes they say I’m a Deep Summer, other times Soft Winter, and occasionally even Dark Summer. The problem is, when I look at the descriptions, they often seem interchangeable, especially with the muted and cool tones mentioned in both Soft Winter and Deep Summer profiles. It’s really puzzling and somewhat annoying because I’m trying to build a consistent palette that actually flatters me rather than guessing blindly.

I do notice my skin skews toward cool undertones, but I’m not sure if it’s truly muted or slightly brighter, which is where the Soft Winter vs. Deep Summer debate is getting me stuck. I also want to understand the distinctive feeling that each subtype brings—I keep reading about how Deep Summers have a calm, understated elegance while Soft Winters are cooler but more contrasted, but it’s hard to translate that into what colors truly feel right on me.

So, I found this infographic that clarifies the small contrasts between adjacent 16-season categories, which was helpful to an extent— find your color palette . Still, I’m open to hearing what others have found. Has anyone run into the same blurry boundaries between these cooler, muted seasons? Do you have go-to methods for comparing these seasons? Or even better, photos showing how certain colors really make a difference on your skin and overall appearance?

Any tips on how to approach these nuanced distinctions or personal stories would be welcome. I’d love to hear what worked for you in untangling this color dilemma. Thanks in advance!
